Larry D. Kolb, sr.
Owner

In 1961, after coming out of the Navy at the age of 21, Larry went to work for Long Point Roofing with a starting salary of $1.00 per hour.  After two years of roofing, Larry became job foreman and within a few months was promoted to estimator.  He continued to work for Long Point Roofing for 6 years.  In 1969, Mr. Berger the owner of Long Point Roofing at the time, was ready to retire and sold Larry the company with the understanding that he would honor Long Point Roofing’s warranties and to continue to service his customers.  Larry introduced his sons to the roofing business at an early age, having them clean up around the job site, work on the roofs, and then become estimators.  Larry D. Kolb, II and Keith continue to operate the family business today along with their father.

Growing up with a father in the business, Larry knew that he would one day follow and have a career in the roofing industry.  While attending Texas Tech University, Larry worked as the lead roofing estimator for Brown Roofing and Construction in Lubbock.  In 2000, Larry returned to Houston to join the family business.  Larry has worked in all aspects of the roofing industry as laborer, job foreman, estimator, and certified roof consultant.  Larry works closely with his material manufacturer companies and distributors to offer his residential and commercial customers the best roofing products on the market.  In 2002, Larry expanded the commercial division of the company and has completed large scale commercial roofing projects spanning the Gulf Coast and East Coast states.  Larry is a certified and licensed roofing contractor in Louisiana, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina.  He is also a member of the National Roofers Contractor Association and is a certified applicator for all of the roofing products he installs.

Owner

Keith M. Kolb is proud to be a native Houstonian born and raised in the Memorial area. He graduated from Memorial Senior High School in 2001. He then continued his education at Sam Houston State University, where he earned a degree in Construction Management in 2006. Keith has worked for Long Point Roofing for the past fourteen years, and has recently joined his father and brother as co-owners of the family business. Some of his expertise include composition shingle, standing seem metal, and flat roofs. He is currently an active member of the National Roofing Contractors Association and the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas.

jill Kolb
CFO and Marketing Director

Jill Kolb is the CFO and Marketing Director for Long Point Roofing,  Jill received her bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University.  After graduation, Jill worked as a loan officer for an agricultural lending institution.  Upon moving to Houston, she earned her teaching certification and taught for Spring Branch ISD.  In 2006, Jill joined the family business on a full-time basis.  She is actively involved in the day to day operations of the company as well as handles all of the marketing decisions. Jill is married to Larry D. Kolb, II and they reside in Memorial with their three children.

Joyce became friends with Ruth Kolb, wife of Larry D. Kolb, Sr., while playing team tennis at the Dad’s Club in the 1980’s.  After learning about a position at Long Point Roofing, Joyce began working part time for Kolb’s in the late 1980’s and full time in 1990. Joyce works very closely with the company’s customers, owners, and employees.  Her office management duties include lots of customer service, accounting, and payroll.  In 1998, Joyce left Long Point Roofing and began working with Interfaith of the Woodlands in office management under what is now called Workforce Solutions.  We were fortunate to have Joyce come back home Long Point Roofing in late September 2008, soon after Hurricane Ike hit and it seemed as if she had never left.  The only change for Joyce was now Larry II and Keith were all grown up and running the company.

Many of our crew have been with Long Point Roofing, Inc. for the past 35 years.  All of our crew are trained in Fall Protection through Safety Solutions which meets OSHA guidelines and standards. We are known for our top quality workmanship, which is unconditionally guaranteed for ten years.  We also offer 10 year, 12 year, and 15 year NDL warranties on all commercial roofs. Long Point Roofing, Inc. also issues material warranties on all products.
